Cake Care Instructions
Following these guidelines will ensure your cakes and desserts are perfect for your celebration!
Our cakes are made with rich Swiss meringue buttercream and are best enjoyed at room temperature. If not serving immediately, store the cake in the fridge. To Serve, Cut the cake while is is cold from the fridge to help maintain its shape. Then allow the cut servings servings to warm up at room temperature for 30 minutes to bring out the best flavor and texture. We use really butter in our buttercream and if it is too cold it will not be the proper texture and will be like pure butter. It needs to mellow and warm up to be just right.
If there are any leftovers (reports we receive is this is highly unlikley !) store cake in airtight container in the fridge and it will stay fresh for 3-4 days. You can freeze the cake for up to a year and half when prepared properly – please ask us for these instructions if you are saving your top tier of your wedding cake and we have not provided them to you.
If picking up your order within Calgary you’ll need to keep your cake on a flat surface in an air-conditioned vehicle, and avoid direct sunlight to prevent melting or damage. The best place is the front floor of the car. If you are transporting your order outside of Calgary please ensure you have a cooler that will fit your cake. Our office team can provide you links to recommended insulated food shippers via Uline that will fit your specific cake. This is imperative during summer months particularly. We also offer delivery services and can quote that during your order. Last minute delivery requests are often not able to be accommodated.

For Cakes:
For transportation, keep your cake on a flat surface (not a person lap) in an air-conditioned vehicle, and avoid direct sunlight to prevent melting or damage. Pickup and carry the cake box from the bottom. We recommend a cooler that will fit the cake for transport longer that 45 min in an air conditioned car and 20 min without AC.
Cakes with Fresh Flowers:
Pick up cakes with fresh flowers on the day of your event. The flowers will look their best for up to 12 hours after being placed on the cake. Some flowers do not do well on cakes but we can guide your regarding this when we chat during the ordering process.
For Dessert Bar Items:
Dessert bar items like macarons and cookies should also be picked up on the day of your event for maximum freshness.

Local Pick Up:Pick up will be from the head office location listed on your invoice during a per-scheduled time.
All orders must be picked up on/within the date and time frame selected when placing your order. If, for some reason, you are unable to pick up your order on your chosen pick up date, please contact us in advance to discuss options at [email protected]. Orders not picked up on their pick up date are not eligible for a refund.
Cake Transport -all cakes must be transported completely flat and in an air conditioned vehicle. They can not ride on a person’s lap or buckle into a seat. The floorboards on the front seat are the best place with the air conditioning blowing onto the cake. Cakes over 10″ in diameter usually do not fit in this area. Any transport over 45 min even with the cake being flat should be in a cooler with ice packs. No direct sunlight onto the cakes. If you are unable to follow these requirements for pick up we would gladly have one of our professional delivery specialists deliver to you at a charge. Once the cake leaves our hands we are not responsible for any damages incurred during transport or set up. All cakes are structurally sounds and well chilled to be ready for transport. If you are concerned we offer professional delivery to ensure your order arrives safely.
Delivery Service – We offer 90 min delivery windows for your online orders which is quoted during check out. Custom quotes are avialable upon request and very in price depending if a member of our bakery team is needed to set up and delivery or if our third party delivery company is doing the delivery.
Order Confirmation – A separate email notification will be provided after your shopping cart order is completed, confirming the pick up date, location and time frame.
Cake Care Instructions – Our cakes are best enjoyed at room temperature. If you are serving the cake on the same day that you pick it up, please refrigerate it until 30 minutes prior to serving. Cut the cake while it is still chilled to help maintain shape. Allow those pieces to warm up to room temperature for 20 minutes to ensure the cake is soft, moist and the buttercream is flavourful and creamy. If you rush it the cake and icing will be hard and not enjoyable.
Cancellations/Order Modifications – Cancellations are allowed for on -line order up to 24 hours after ordering minus a 10% administration fee. No cancellations or refunds are allowed after that. For order modification every effort will be made to accommodate your request provided the adequate notice has been provided, however please note, such requests may not be possible if baking or preparations of any kind have already commenced. There are no refunds for custom orders. Please ensure you review your invocei for accuracy. If it is not on the invocie our bakery team will not knw to put it on the order. We are a small team here but on the rare occasion miscommunications can happen so if you’ve told us a detail over the phone and we make a mistake (humans only employed here heheh) please let us know so we can update the invoice.
Colour(s) & Creative License – Our bakers, designers and decorators will follow customer provided requests and specifications to the best of their ability. However, creative license is often needed to ensure that every product that leaves our shop reflects to our highest of standards. Every item that leaves our shop is handmade and therefore we cannot guarantee 100% accuracy in regards to colour matching, proportions or interpretation.
Allergies – We openly handle several allergens throughout our kitchens. While we are able to accommodate custom Gluten free, dairy free and egg fee requests, additional fees will apply as we bake/prepare these orders alone and in a freshly sanitized kitchen environment. While every effort is made to avoid cross contamination, we are not an allergen free kitchen and therefore cannot guarantee. If the allergy/sensitivity is severe, we recommend you seek out a 100% allergen free kitchen. We are not a nut free kitchen and given the severity of the allergy we do not accept nut free requests and advise anyone with a nut allergy to not consume our products. ‘
